The most important rules are:

 

1. Appreciate that it is difficult for kids to start learning guitar and so do all you can to make it easier

 

2. Get them to make friends with their guitar.

 

3. Help them tune it.

 

4. Go for teaching them the simplest possible things first

 

5. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

 

6. Encourage practice, but beware of making it too much of a chore.

 

7. Encourage singing.

 

8. Above all, have fun sharing your own enthusiasm for music
